Bizarre times

I have to write this to let you understand a bit what we are going through these days.
I went yesterday to a wool shop to by some wool, as it's almost winter here, and I started knitting presents for my sweethearts.
As I was walking to the car a siren started and I ran into a stairwell of some building, I took shelter from the missiles.
I couldn't believe that I'm going through this again. The last time I ran into some building during a siren was in the first golf war, and I promised myself that I will never go through something like this again. Well – guess what – I'm going through this again!
This strange and frightening situation of coming into some strangers' stairwell, some people from the street ran with me to this building and the people that live there came outside from their flats to the stairwell. We all talked to each other like we know each other for years. There was an old lady who ran from the street with me and she started to breath heavily in and out, and I know this kind of breathing, it happens to me every siren when I'm alone or with my husband, this is anxiety, so I started talking to her, I made her laugh and after the BOOM I tried to tell her that it was the sound of shooting down and not a hit, and for some reason she believed me, like I was some kind of a military expert. I think she needed to believe me. I put my arm on her shoulder and told her that everything's fine and she smiled. We waited a few more minutes and then everybody got back to the street, the people from the flats got back to their flats and it was like we never met before. We got back to be strangers.
This is now our everyday life.
